Sophie BattEvent Coordinator

Hello, my name is Sophie.
I have worked within the events industry for almost seven years. Despite taking a short break to explore other opportunities, my passion for events quickly brought me back to the industry I love. I began my career in fundraising and have since expanded my portfolio to include conferences, company parties, award ceremonies, and more. I am always looking for the opportunity to expand my knowledge in the event industry and experience all the amazing opportunities this industry has to offer.

What is your role at the company, and what do you love most about it?

I am an Events Coordinator and Administration at High5. My favourite part of the role and working in the event industry as a whole, is the sense of accomplishment I feel when all the hard work pays off in a successful event. The planning can be full on at times, but seeing everyone enjoy the end result makes it all worthwhile.

What is one project or achievement you're particularly proud of?

Throughout my time in the events industry, I had the opportunity to plan and manage many events. However, the one I am most proud of is the very first event I planned on my own. At the time, I was still relatively new to both the industry and my role as an Event Coordinator. Planning the event on my own was not intentional but other commitments required my colleagues attention elsewhere.

I managed every aspect myself; from budgeting and creating promotional material to sourcing volunteers and handling all the event logistics. The event turned out to be a huge success and was incredibly well received. I am extremely proud of what I achieved and the experience only strengthened my love for events and a career in the event industry.

What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?

My favourite way to unwind after a busy day is to head home and relax with some quality cuddle time with my four-legged pup, Scout. 🐾

What’s one thing on your bucket list?

One thing on my bucket list is to visit Rio de Janeiro. From everything I have read and photos I've seen, it looks like a breathtaking place that I hope I get the chance to visit one day.

Favourite destination/place in the world

I am very family-oriented and have a close relationship with my loved ones, so my favourite place in the world is simply being at home with my family.
