Over the weekend I visited the beautiful ‘eternal city’ for the Autumn 2018 Meeting Space Forum (TMS). With over 150 suppliers and over 100 buyers this was definitely a place to network with fellow colleagues in the industry…
The beautiful setting of the Rome Cavaellri’s rooftop bar with spectacular views of Rome played host to our first evening; with the traditional Italian cuisine, coffee art, and pizza tossing we were definitely welcomes into the city in a true Italian way.
Day 2 saw 15 of the 25 scheduled meetings discussing new opportunities with hotels, DMCs and Convection Bureaus from all around Europe. After 15 very interesting meetings flying the high 5 flag we all changed into our trainers and had a speedy walking tour of the main landmarks of Rome. The Spanish steps, Trevi fountain and The Pantheon were all on the menu – as well as an obligatory gelato!
Once we returned from our tours it was time to get glammed up and visit the beautiful Church Palace hotel for the TMS gala dinner. This was a great opportunity to network with those we had met earlier in the day. With the gorgeous setting and food from the hotel, and great music from the band Indienational a great night was had by all!
On Saturday morning we had the remainder of the scheduled meetings with each buyer voting for the best pitch from suppliers in the ‘pitch perfect’ competition. The farewell lunch was our last opportunity to mingle and network before all jetting off home with great memories (and photos!) of this brilliant Italian city.
