Conference - London Days & Nights

Conference - London Days & Nights

History / Background

How to provide something different for 55 delegates in London for 3 days – and of course stay on budget! Sometimes these medium sized meetings can prove more of a challenge as groups are too large for many hotel conference facilities but would be lost in the larger conference venues.

Challenges

For this event the client wanted

  • Accommodation
  • Meeting venues
  • Varying breakout room spaces
  • Unique and fun evening dining
  • Easy accessibility from the stations and airports

Delivery

High 5 Events proposed the Grand Connaught Rooms with the accommodation provided virtually next door at the Kingsway Hall hotel. The venue was ideally located, just a 5-minute walk from Covent Garden and Holborn underground stations, 15 minutes from King’s Cross St Pancras and Euston train stations with great access to all London’s international airports.
The evening programme took the delegates away from their hotel to new corners of London:-

  • Day 1 – Coach transfer to the Benihana Japanese Restaurant at Piccadilly. With the guests divided around 6 private dining/cooking stations, the personal chefs set to work creating an amazing meal right in front of the diners and entertainment was included too! The chefs serenaded their guests, created smoking onion volcanoes, juggled food catching it in their hats, and demonstrated breath-taking skills by cutting food mid-air with the super sharp knives, all whilst ultimately providing delicious fresh food for our guests.
  • Day 2 – London by Air and Sea – the group took a flight over London in two private Pods on the London Eye followed by a Bateaux Thames Dinner Cruise. Onboard the boat, the guests could more easily network while taking in the London landmarks and enjoy great food and wines in a private dining room with its resident singer and sax player.

Outcome

Despite January weather, this was a successful start to the meeting year.
